Pottermania!
So Harry Potter 7 has finally hit the shops as of today! Even if you aren’t a Potter fan, you can’t help but get caught up in the hype and excitement of the last ever Harry Potter book being released. Took these photos below in Piccadilly Circus yesterday at around 9.30pm as I was passing by Waterstones hoping to catch a glimpse of the supposedly biggest and best Harry Potter party in history. There was around 200 people waiting outside for the midnight opening, some in costume but unfortunately did not see any of the promised Harry Potter characters entertaining those who were waiting. Just a lot of policeman and tourists taking photos unfortunately. Anyway I didn’t stick around for long as I’m not really a die hard Potter fan (I’m still on Goblet of Fire…) although it would have been nice to stay for the opening as apparently they had recreated Hogwarts in a section of Waterstones
Anyway, if you have been left traumatised by the fact that this is the last ever Harry Potter, Waterstones have started a petition to save Harry and when a million people have signed they will deliver the petition to JK Rowling’s publisher Bloomsbury.
I also came across a post by Martin Aquino and according to him a girl in the Philipphines has commited suicide after reading a fake spoiler of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on the internet in which Harry and his friends meet an untimely and gruesome death! What is the world coming to!
