How To Get Hundreds Of Backlinks Using The D-List

Posted on August 8th, 2007 in Drive Traffic To Your Blog,Search Engine Optimization by Stephanie

A couple of days ago I wrote about using the Do Follow Plugin and how it can be used to give backlinks to your readers who comment on your posts.  Well I have come across something called the D-List which is a list of blogs that use the Do Follow Plugin so if you leave a comment on their blog you will get a backlink which will therefore help in increasing your page rank with Google.

So here’s the D-List (but please do not leave spam comments):

Wow, that list certainly had grown! One of my blogs is listed and I certainly “do” follow, however if spammy or nonsensical comments are left, then I will delete those. Although I think the “do follow” attribute is fine, bloggers need to find a way to add value to a blog by leaving a thoughtful and concise comment.

My blog should not be on this list. Is it an old list? I no longer do the do-follow. People were commenting just to get link love to their real estate blog. And the comments sometimes weren’t even close to relevant. All in all, not a great experience for me. If I like your site, I’ll link you the old-fashioned way.

Sorry you had a bad experience with the do-follow plugin. I monitor my comments before I let them go live to try and fish out the spammers.

The list has grown. My blog’s on their, as well. Actually, I’m surprised because a few blogs I read on a normal basis “do follow”, too.

Londoner this is so funny. I came here from courtneytuttle’s site where he has you on the D-list. I got caught up with your freebies and then saw the D-list link at the sidebar. Love London, spent a short time at school there as a young girl.

Do follow links are definately more productive then no follow links. I have trialed this on some of my blogs and have found up to 50% for comments on the do follow ones. Thats where the market is for quality comments and backlinks. Thanks for the list

2008-10-02 23:46:30

I have just started to check out these blogs and starting blogging. Some websites are hard to do backlinking as they lack relevance to my site but its still worth a try. Thanks alot

DO-follow lists work quite well for SEO. Participating in blogs is an effective method to generate links to your website. However one should be genuine in the comments and spam purely or getting links. If you do not add value to an existing post, you can find yourself getting banned quite easily from posting in future. Above all you can damage your profile and brand.

Excellent post and very well put. I am in the process of trying to find related blogs to comment on to generate some backlinks at the moment so this list was very useful, thanks!

The list is pretty big and very helpful for the people who want to utilize their comments in better ways.. thanks for sharing the useful list of do follow blogs. But these days lots of people have started spamming via commenting on other blogs.. at lease moderating comments is a source to control them.

Best Regards,
Leif

I have installed the no follow plugin on my blog and have noticed increased comments, Still get the spam though that needs filtering out.
Where people arbitrarily drop there link I delete the comment but where they bring something to the party I am happy for them to share my page rank.

What a great list! Thanks! I just hope people use the list to pass on meaningful comments. Though I must say I had a laugh and enjoyed some blogs, I may have normally not come across so it has been beneficial in that way too.

2010-10-06 22:11:08

I have been looking for a list like this for a while now and finally found this page through delicious. Thank you! I’d say the next step for this list would be to identify the dofollow blogs that autopost comments, or allow names to be anchor text relevant to the poster’s site.

I think commenters should think up comments that mean something to the blogger, otherwise it’s just spam, in my opinion. I’ll pick blogs that I can actually write something useful on.
