K-West Hotel and Spa Shepherds Bush

Posted on September 28th, 2007 in Money Saving Tips,Places To Visit by Stephanie

I have just got back from an overnight stay at the K-West Hotel and Spa which I booked as a treat for my boyfriends birthday.  The hotel is a trendy 4-star deluxe hotel (faved by a lot of bands who play in the nearby Shepherd’s Bush Empire) located near Shepherds Bush station which is not the nicest of locations in London but is fairly close to central London in zone 2 so is convenient enough if you are planning a visit to London.

I got a package from Buyagift which included a champagne arrival, one hour treatment each, use of the hotel ‘s spa facilities and gym, overnight accommodation in an executive room (basically a room which has a lounge and work area plus a couple of other extras) and an a la carte breakfast.

On arrival at the hotel we did have to wait a while at check-in as housekeeping had prepared the wrong room for us but the reception were very apologetic and helpful.  The room we were given had a contemporary decor, was clean and spacious and as it was an executive room it also came with a DVD/CD player, robes and slippers.  Unfortunately the TV in our room was not working properly but the problem was promptly fixed after contacting the reception.

After checking into our room, we spent an hour in the gym and then went for our treatments.  I had a mud wrap dry floatation – first your entire body is exfoliated, it is then covered in a mud mask after which you are wrapped in hot towels and lowered into a special bed which is filled with water (sort of like a water bed) to give you a feeling of floating.  It is very relaxing and is supposed to be equivalent to 6-8 hours of sleep and it also detoxes your body and leaves your skin feeling really soft.

After our treatment, we decided to go to the spa area and use the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna.  There were only a few other people using the spa area whilst we were there so we practically had the entire place to ourselves!  After spending a couple of hours relaxing in the spa, we ended our day with a nice room service dinner.

We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant the following morning which consisted of juice or coffee/tea, fruit, toast and pastries as well as a choice of either a full english breakfast, vegetarian breakfast, belgian waffles or breakfast burrito.

All-in-all we had a great and very relaxing time in K-West and it is perfect as a short break from all the stresses of life! :-)  Buyagift are also now offering 25% off all purchases using the promotional code 843843 so it would make a great gift for Christmas coming up or as a treat!  They also have other good gift experiences such as ferrari driving, flying lessons, watersports, skydiving and tea for 2 at Harrods which I have just purchased :-)
