Kowloon Bakery Chinatown London

Posted on November 1st, 2011 in Places To Visit by Stephanie

Whenever I’m in Leicester Square I always make it a point to stop by my favourite Chinese bakery in Chinatown. The Kowloon Bakery has been on Gerrard Street for as long as I can remember. As a child I remember going there with my mum to get freshly made red bean buns, malay cake, sesame balls and my favourite almond cookies (see the photo below). This shop is a Chinese sweets heaven and has every Chinese bakery item you could possibly think of! Everything that I’ve tried there has been better than even the ones in Hong Kong!

I have to admit I’ve never heard of Kowloon Bakery, but I’ll definitely stop by next time I’m in London – it sounds delicious and I love Eastern food!

Did they have egg tarts? I had some at a shop in Macau and haven’t found any that come close since!

Hi Will, yes they have egg tarts, they are really good! They have a small seating area in the bakery so you can eat them whilst they’re hot and fresh too! :)
