Tube Refunds

Posted on October 2nd, 2007 in Money Saving Tips by Stephanie

Ask any Londoner and they will tell you how frustrating the London transport system can be with tube delays, station and line closures occuring every day, not to mention the chaos caused by strikes!  Few people however know that you can actually claim your money back if your train has been delayed by more than 15 minutes for a reason that is within London Transport’s control.  They will refund the full value of your single journey by sending you a credit note which can be used to purchase tube fare and has an expiry date of 15 months from the date of issue.  Not bad considering if you travel to work every day by tube you are bound to have some delays and therefore could save a fair amount of money!  Especially now that tube fares have increased up to £7.30 now for a peak one day travel card!  So its time to get some of that money back!

To claim a tube refund, you can go to this website, fill in the claim form online and if your claim is valid, a credit note should arrive through the post after a couple of weeks.
